IONOCO APPOINTS CHRIS PYE AS NON-EXEC DIRECTOR

Chris Pye, the former Chairman and Executive Director of 2waytraffic, will join ionoco, one of the world’s leading broadcast technology companies, as a Non-Executive Director. Pye, whose appointment takes immediate effect, will advise the company on strategic development and help build their relationships with broadcasters and producers in Europe and the USA.

Pye brings to ionoco over 30 years of experience in the television entertainment industry worldwide. He worked as an Executive Producer and Head Writer of primetime series in Los Angeles for fifteen years and back in the UK, Pye was the Head of Entertainment at the BBC, Commercial Director of Granada Television, where he was responsible for programme distribution and international production, and Head of Commercial and Business Affairs at BBC Productions, where he played a crucial role in setting up BBC America and sat on the board of BBC Worldwide.

This announcement follows recent news of ionoco’s continued growth in the international market; having signed a deal with ITV and 12 Yard to be the preferred technology provider for the hit game show The Colour of Money, rolling the format out worldwide.

David Walton, Chairman of ionoco says: “Increasingly we are working with broadcasters and production companies right from the outset to build a format around the advanced technologies available today. Chris’s insight, experience and expertise will help us to expand on this approach and steer ionoco into the future.”

Chris Pye, Non-Executive Director of ionoco says: “After spending many years creating and producing entertainment shows, I am deeply aware of the value of reliable and creative technology partners. I am immensely impressed with ionoco’s dynamic progress in the last year and am excited about the company’s potential for further growth, hopefully guided by the insight and experience I can offer.”
