IONOCO CHOSEN TO POWER TWO NEW
UK ENTERTAINMENT FORMATS

International broadcast technology company, ionoco today announced it is supplying the technology for two of the UK’s most exciting new game shows: primetime National Lottery series Secret Fortune, produced by Wild Rover Productions, and daytime quiz Perfection, produced by 12 Yard. Both shows are hosted by Nick Knowles and airing on BBC One.

In Secret Fortune, a pair of contestants must answer a series of general knowledge questions which are matched with 24 envelopes with varying amounts of prize money inside. As the players answer the questions, the envelopes are eliminated, leaving them with their secret fortune at the end of the game. ionoco has designed the computer system which runs the game, generates graphics for the three on-set screens and host information feed, and controls the envelope holders which slide up to meet the host.

Perfection challenges a contestant to correctly answer true or false questions in an effort to achieve perfection. However, if they make any mistakes, they open the game up to the other contestants giving them a chance to share in the final jackpot. ionoco provided the system that runs the game and generates all of the on-air graphics.

Simon Ingram, Managing Director of ionoco, says: “Being chosen as the technology provider for Secret Fortune and Perfection is testament to ionoco’s expertise in developing bespoke computer systems for any game show format. We are grateful to Wild Rover and 12 Yard for having given us the chance to showcase our technology.”

Phil Morrow, CEO of Wild Rover says: “Making Secret Fortune the compelling show that it is requires ground breaking technical systems and ionoco have proven once again that they are world leaders in game show technology.”

Secret Fortune will air on 12 February on BBC One and is produced by Wild Rover Productions. Perfection premiered on 17 January on BBC Two and is produced by 12 Yard.
