A live comedy panel show of two teams of celebrities trying to second-guess what the viewers will vote for

Viewers at home play a long live using the Don’t Ask Me Ask Britain app on their mobile device while the celebrities try to determine which answer will get the most votes by the public. Each team receives points based on the percentage of people that voted for their selected answer.

Key Challenges

  • To provide a fully redundant system able to seamlessly switch to a backup system mid show
  • Dynamically manage the viewer experience with a play along mobile app
  • To push question content to the app dynamically hours before a live show
  • Control the play along app to trigger the required actions synchronously with studio gameplay
  • Integrate with the mobile app back end to retrieve and use the results to display 3D graphics on the studio floor

How ionoco made it happen

  • Using the inbuilt functionality of our ionologic technology, a duplicate backup system exactly mirrors the master machine’s operation and can be swapped over to at any time
  • Implementation of Ex-Machina control protocols allowed us to fully specify and populate a session for each show in real time
  • Integration of the control protocols into our cueing allowed our show control systems to dynamically drive the app during the live show for the display of content
