Tom will be taking over the day-to-day management and operation of the Los Angeles-based office.
Herschko is an experienced and well respected game-show producer with his appointment reflecting ionoco’s booming State-side business, where its current hits providing gameshow technology include NBC’s The Wall and World of Dance, and Fox’s Beat Shazam.
In the course of his 18 year career, Herschko has helped develop numerous competition and game-show projects for premier-league production companies, including Endemol, Alevy, Talpa, Katalyst, Matador Content, Kinetic, Evolution and Wilshire Studios. Although best known as a freelance producer, his CV also features several corporate stints, notably vice-president of development for FremantleMedia North America and head of TV development for Woody Thompson’s Eyeboogie.
Herschko began his career on NBC’s hit Fear Factor as an assistant to the show’s executive producer, David Hurwitz and then went on to become one of the show’s producers for 6 seasons and over 100 episodes.
Since then, he has developed and produced some of the most successful formats on US television, including NBC’s The Biggest Loser, E! Network’s Botched, Fox’s Don’t Forget The Lyrics, and Food Network’s Chefs vs City.
Herschko begins this new position to allow ionoco founder and chief executive Simon Ingram to focus time on system design and on rolling out proprietary technologies in interactive and real-time targeted television advertising.
“It would be difficult to find somebody with more experience of the US game-show world who also gets what we do, than Tom. He understands the pressures of the creative process and appreciates what’s possible technologically to deliver that vision, and he knows and is respected by everybody in the business,” said Simon Ingram, founder and chief executive, in a statement. “Best of all, with ionoco’s LA outpost in Tom’s safe hands, I can focus more of my time on the next phase of ionoco’s evolution — bringing TV advertising into the digital age with real-time tools and technology.”

‘As a producer I’ve been fortunate enough to work with ionoco over many years and have always been interested in the latest tech. I was always impressed with their contribution to the creative process and professionalism. This position allows me to use my expertise and contacts at a time when the gameshow genre is really ticking – in broadcast, cable and emerging digital channels. I feel it’s time to take a role to create and deliver the best technology for producers and networks; helping to fulfil ionoco’s ambition to be the number 1 global gameshow technical provider.’
